v-kit - Software FAQsv-kit Software FAQsWhen importing a v2c file the error message “Error occurred trying to import the Licence data” appears.
This can mean that you have attempted to import a v2c file to 1) the wrong dongle, 2) the v2c has already been imported, 3) or you need to import a previously issued v2c file first. Click here for a fact sheet on how to deal with this error v-kit Pro ver 1.1.1 and onwards install the Win7 compatible HASP driver automatically. If you have a previous version of v-kit Pro you may need to uninstall the existing dongle (HASP) driver first then install the Win7 compatible. Click here for a datasheet explaining this process
A Win7 driver are available for the dongle (HASP key). The Win7 compatible driver is 5.95. You can download it from the Download - software and drivers section of this website. Please read the installation guides carefully.
v-kit 3.1 HPLC & GC softwares need some manual intervention during the installation process as the the UserData folder does not install automatically. The Userdata folder, and the file within it, "HPLC UserData.raw" need to be copied manually to a folder on the local PC with Read/Write access. This procedure however is highlighted in the Readme.txt file supplied on the installation CD-ROM.You will also need to uninstall the old HASP driver then download and install the Win7 compatible driver. Click here for the datasheet explaining this process.
When first using v-kit 3.1 the message “Your v-kit dongle has expired” is displayed. This is not a fault ! When v-kit intia kits are manufactured they have a expiry default date of 2008 applied. Please follow the instructions provided with your kit and import your v2c files. The v2c file will contain a new expiry date, usually your order date plus 12-14 months.
If you have been using your v-kit software sucessfully for a year or more and you see this message it is because the licences you purchased with your kit have expired. Every licence is supplied with up to 14-months expiry date from it's date of creation. Don't worry, you will not loose these licences permanently. The simple solution is to order another v-kit refill (any number) and your licences will be re-instated with expiry date of minimum 12-months from your order date
The password for your dataset is supplied on the printed document named "v2c files and DataSet" shipped with your order. If you do not have this document contact your distributor who will be able to e-mail a backup copy to yo in pdf format.
The error can occur when:
1) Your dongle is not inserted into an operational USB slot. Remedy - Check that the dongle is inserted and that the red LED is lit. 2) The correct permissions have not been purchased for your dongle. Each analytical technique (HPLC, GC, Tablet Dissolution etc.) is licenced separately. On purchase of the licence a v2c file is created which contains “Core” functionality. This functionality is applied to a single dongle and must be purchased with an Initia kit. Remedy – send your c2v file via e-mail to info@v-kit.com. We will check the file contents and advise you which analytical techniques are functional for this dongle Trying to install a V2C file with an update counter that is out of sequence with the update counter in the Sentinel HASP protection key. Please import your v2c files in numerical order, lowest first.
A corrupt c2v has been sent. When sending c2v files to NLG for diagnostic checks, please ensure that you zip the files before e-mailing them.
v-kit software is programmed to only use a licence when you accept and print a PASS result. So if you have a failure during the OQ process (for example the HPLC or GC module required some repair), you can re-test the module as many times as required until a PASS result is achieved. In v-kit Pro you would be asked for a comment about each failure and this would appear in the audit trail.
I can’t complete the HPLC Protocol Details or the GC Protocol Details test forms in v-kit Pro Runner. Fields are greyed out.
The details must be completed in the Protocol Manager application. Select a protocol and duplicate it. Then select the HPLC (or GC) Protocol Details test and wait for the form to load. Click in the blue fields until a box with “Default free format text value” appears. Use the white area to enter your details. Select update, When all your amendments are made select “Save Test Defaults”
The dongle is faulty and you will require a replacement device. If the dongle is less than 12-months old (from the date of it’s shipment), we can supply a replacement free of charge. If 12-months old or more then you will need to order a replacement. We will restore to the replacement dongle any of your original software (Initia kit) licence(s). Note we cannot restore refill or standalone licences you have purchased, as we have no way of knowing whether these have been consumed. Please order part number VLIC-EXC and state which dongle you are making obsolete. The old dongle must be returned to NLG.
Error - unable to find feature 27 on this Dongle
Feature 27 relates to a test called "Protocol Details". This should be installed on the dongle supplied with the v-kit application, with an unlimited number of executions available to the user. In some cases dongles have been supplied with this feature missing. If this error occurs then please contact v-kit support. We will send you an updated v2c file which corrects this error.
